Norfolk is renown as probably the best county for birding in England, here we are surrounded by reserves and protected areas that are perfect to watch birds from land or water. Hickling broad is surrounded by extensive reed beds and is owned by NWT and English Nature. Breydon Water is very dense with migrants, red-flanked bluetail and little bunting have both been recorded. Breydon water is a large estuary that has 1000s of waders (lapwings, golden plovers, black tailed godwits) in winter and attracts some rare birds, paths run all the way along either side and Berney Arms a RSPB reserve of flooded grazing marsh, is at the south west corner.
